I find some of the names on this list both interesting and disheartening. Namely Andres Gallaraga. This is a man who beat cancer and was a great feel good story for my Atlanta Braves. The sad thing is that this was during the downside of his career and it was 3 years after he had successfully made it back from cancer. All in all most of this list is not surprising. A lot of big name stars who had success around that period of time.
One of them that jumps out at me and is now blatantly obvious is Javier Lopez. Lopez had a career year in 2003, hitting 43 home runs and breaking the records for most home runs by a catcher in a season. Lopez left the Braves for a big contract with the Baltimore Orioles that offseason and his career and numbers plummetted.
All in all I really hope that this list is addressed by Major League Baseball. If it turns out to be correct.
